Consider yourself fortunate you can say We’re Hiring these days! Right?

But seriously, this is a good time IF you’re looking for new employees right now.

Here’s why.


According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the unemployment rate is over 11%.

This means that, in general, you have a larger pool of candidates to select from if you’re an employer looking for employees.

Also, people fortunate to be employed are concerned about their job security.

So even if employed, no one feels secure right now, and that means companies looking for people to hire have a bigger audience to advertise their job openings.

We’re going to focus here on how to find good employees and more specifically, share some insights about the process of attracting qualified job applicants.

The insight I share might surprise you since I own a recruiting company that companies pay to find people.

How to find good employees online

In times where unemployment is high and when many employers are NOT hiring, it’s a good opportunity for you to find employees online through job postings.


Do I think this is the best way to find candidates?


Not entirely, but in times like these, I do think it’s a good idea to post your job online with job boards.

Here’s why.

People that are currently employed have reason to be concerned about their job security.

So they may peek at online job postings once a week.


Now mind you, that’s once a week more than they would be looking for a new job under normal circumstances.


Since you’re looking to hire someone right now, you’ve got a window of opportunity to make an impression on a potential employee.


And if your job opening fits their interests, then you may have found your next great employee.


With many people out of work, posting a job online is a great way to look for employees to hire.


They may not be the best employees, but if you write the job posting correctly, you will end up with a large pool of candidates.


I’ve compiled a list of job boards that you can post your job openings on.


In times of high unemployment, you’ll likely get a large number of applicants from the larger job boards, so I’ve started with them.

LinkedIn Jobs is another top job board to consider when posting jobs to find new employees

LinkedIn Jobs is a top job board and networking site – the good thing about posting a job on LinkedIn is that it’s the #1 business networking platform in North America.

With other job boards, people have to be “in the mood” to check job boards for new jobs they might be interested in – on the other hand, many people use LinkedIn to gather sales leads, marketing insights or to network with suppliers. Depending on the job you’re looking to fill, you have the opportunity to reach a captive audience. This is a big advantage for using LInkedIn Jobs to find your next employee.

You can set an average daily budget for your job posting and you’ll only be charged for the number of views your job receives.
